Summary
Under close advisement from the CEO, the Project Manager will work in partnership with the management staff, Associates, and support team to manage assigned projects. The Project Manager will help set and carry out the strategic program goals and manage the day-to-day operations of assigned projects. The Project Manager will be an independent worker with proven competencies in leadership, communication, community engagement, community development, economic development, and a passion for assisting marginalized communities through collaborative partnerships and collaborative intervention.
The Project Manager will work directly with C3S staff, clients, community partners, and the public to carry out project objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages daily financial and operational activities of assigned projects.
- Maintain a clear understanding of client expectations to ensure company alignment.
- Manages daily activities related to grant management to ensure that the business is compliant with state, local, federal regulations.
- Work closely with grant funders.
- Provide overall support to staff and Associates, assisting in staff training, internal policies, procedures, and performance when needed.
- Develop and implement systems and processes to establish and maintain client/project records for the business.
- May coordinate financial aspects of research proposals, contracts, and sub-contracts, including developing the budget, proposal preparation, and adherence to funding requirements; serves as a liaison with university administrators, state, federal, and private funding sources.
- Assist the CEO, Business Manager, and management team in providing project reporting, grant writing, grant compliance, and budget review.
- Ability to coordinate community resources to serve the identified communities.
- May represent the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task-forces; promotes existing and new programs and/or policies.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Familiar with the local community and programs and community resources that support client needs and objectives.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree; at least two years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Knowledge of contracting process and associated local, state, federal, and other regulations.
- Knowledge of state and federal grant policies, standards, and procedures.
- Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse communities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to facilitate and lead group conversations.
- Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Excellent time management, community engagement, and project management skills. Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and the ability to multitask, work under pressure, and work well independently and in a team setting.
